Sebastian Tharaldsen
Graphic Designer
Ko & Co.
I've always been a creative person. Ever since I was a kid, I've had an interest for illustration, had crazy ideas, and loved to produce and make stuff. Obviously, most kids are like that growing up, but I kept doing it throughout my entire life. The craving to make something, to create an interesting idea, to capture special moments with a camera.

When I was about 14 years old, I found out that I could study Media & Communication in high school. I knew right away that it was the perfect fit. I already knew that my life wasn't supposed to be spent in a hospital, in a courtroom, or in an office doing stuff with numbers and stocks. This was meant to be. I applied to Ullern High School in the spring of 2012, and got accepted.
There, my interests for creativity flourished. I made short-films, took loads of photos, created ad campaigns and illustrations, but I quickly found out that what I liked the most of it all, was graphic design and advertisement.

When we got to the third year of high school, most of my fellow students weren't sure of what they wanted to do after graduating, but I had already decided what my dream was; Westerdals.

I'd heard a lot about the school from my teachers, friends, my friends' parents and my own, which made my wish to go there, so much bigger, and in the summer of 2015,
I got an email from the school, saying that I was accepted to study Graphic Design at Westerdals.

The years at Westerdals has been going by quickly, and my interests for graphic design, photography and illustration have just grown stronger and stronger each year. I've done quite a few freelance projects, worked through an internship at Rethink Studio, and been in London for a term as an exchange student.

After graduation, I started working freelance for a few clients. I kept going to meetings with clients, until I finally booked a meeting with the right people. In November 2018, I started working freelance with an  ad agency based in Oslo, Ko & Co., initially just for a two week-long project. The two weeks turned into a month, which turned into six months until I, in April 2019, were hired as a full-time designer.
